we begin to get giddy on our fancy coach bus. We start getting ansy from the long trek already and excitement overwhelms us. From the moment we run off the air conditioned bus and are greeted by the summer staff and work crew kids that want us to be there as badly as we want to be there we are all okay. We have left our problems on the bus, feeling safe and loved by those around us we let go of self conscious habits and let loose. We all go crazy and prod at each other sharing the same giddy excitement and reasuring the younger kids that it is okay to jump around and play like little school children, leaving our macho “teenage badass” routine in the dust. Everyone is at ease, everyone is happy.
Camp is such an amazing thing that I have been blessed to attend three times now and am very satisfied with each time getting new and different things out of it. This year I have decided to grow up a bit and be more christ-like. I have challenged myself to be a better person, a better influence and make healthy choices for myself. I can wait for workcrew/summerstaff/leading. I will do good things.
